Donald Keith Scheib was born April 14, 1936 to Melvin and Kathleen (Campbell) Scheib. Don passed away on October 27, 2024 at Oregon Healthcare at the age of 88.
On June 22, 1958 he married Judy Kneale and they had two children, Scott Scheib and Carol (Scheib) Rogers.
After graduating from NWMSU he worked for the ASCS office in Mound City, MO as a technician. In the 1970's he was the mayor of Oregon, and during his terms he was instrumental in getting the sewers installed.
He loved to farm, and improving and preserving the soil was always important to him. From this love he started Scheib Drainage Products in 1976.
He never met a home improvement project too big and worked countless hours on his kids' and grandkids' homes. There was never a community project or activity that he wasn't one of the first to volunteer to help.
Don was a member of Oregon Lodge #139, the Order of the Eastern Star, Scottish Rite, Kiwanis Club, Southern Holt Fire District member and board member, Maple Grove Cemetery Board, South Holt Development Board, Holt County Research & Museum Board, Holt County Autumn Festival President and Board member, Land Improvement Contractors Association and the Oregon United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister; and his wife, Judy.
He is survived by his son Scott (Carla) Scheib and daughter Carol (Steve) Rogers; grandchildren, Katy (Lenny) Hihath, Lindsey (Brandon) Ritter, Abby (Nicholas) Christensen, Brett (Sarah) Scheib and Stephanie (Jared) Allen; great grandchildren, Libby, Ellie and Eva Hihath, Aiden, Jackson and Mia Vasquez, Sawyer and Savannah Ritter, Dylan and Harper Christensen, Emma and Eric Scheib, and Molly, Campbell, Enoch, Micah and Titus Allen.
Funeral services: Saturday, November 2, 2024, 2:00 pm, Oregon United Methodist Church. Family will greet friends beginning at noon. Interment: Maple Grove Cemetery.
