Spencer Dean Brown, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away on July 21, 2025, at the age of 88. He was born October 23, 1936, in Cameron, Missouri, to the late Harold Spencer and Thelma (Dwyer) Brown.
Spencer was a Benton graduate and over the road truck driver for 35 years. He was a longtime member of the 17th Street Community of Christ Church, where he served faithfully as an elder. He officiated weddings and baptisms and was a proud member of the church choir and a beloved member of the community.
Spencer had a lifelong passion for aviation. He enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, spending countless hours perfecting his craft and sharing the hobby with others. He also had a love for racing, having completed in small-format race cars and following NASCAR with great enthusiasm.
Surviving are his wife Marilyn, four daughters, Debbie Burns (Mike), Deana Moran, Rogene Johnston (Steve), Cindy Martin; brother Lionel Brown (Karen); other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; former wife Mary Davis; daughter Kathy Code; brother Don Brown; grandson, Justin Martin; great-grandson Cyler Matthews.
Spencer was the proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the 17th Street Community of Christ Church of the St. Joseph Animal Shelter.
At this time, no service is planned, but a memorial or celebration of life service may be held at a later date.
