Marjorie Linda Eaton was born August 10th, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa to parents Albert Lamaster Eaton and Daisy Juanita (Murphy) Eaton. She grew up working on the family farm alongside her parents and brothers in Maysville, MO.
Marjorie graduated from Maysville High School in 1965 and went on to work as a physical therapy assistant at Missouri Methodist Hospital in St Joseph, MO. It was here she met her husband Thomas Oden Moody, Jr. Marjorie and Tom were wed on January 16th, 1970.
She worked for the physical therapy department at Mosaic in St Joseph for 41 years. It is here she made some of her fondest memories and closest friends.
In 1973, Marjorie and Tom moved to Forest City, MO to raise their daughter, Linda. They spent many spring days out in the woods hunting for morel mushrooms, which they enjoyed frying up and sharing with their neighbors and loved ones. They also enjoyed raising pigs on their farm and were known to sneak baby pigs into the house to feed and play with in the winter time.
In her free time Marjorie loved playing bingo at the casino, road tripping to visit different casinos, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren, and watching game shows on the television. Marjorie Linda Moody passed away the evening of December 9th, 2022 at the Oregon Care Center after a short fight against cancer.
Marjorie leaves on this earth one daughter Linda (Brett) Scroggins of Forest City, MO; honorary daughter Joyce Plummer of Oregon, MO.; granddaughters Keri Kreek (Jake) of Richmond, MO and Abigail Rose (Hunter) Barton of St Joseph, MO.; grandson, Andrew Kreek (Alissa) of Highland, KS., and step-grandson, Brody Scroggins of Oregon; brothers, Verlin Eaton of St Joseph, MO, Gary Eaton and his wife Pat (an especially cherished sister-in-law) of Forest City, MO. and Terry Eaton of Maysville, MO.; step children Vicki Johnson, Jenny Moody and Craig Moody of Yuma Az.; step grandchildren James (Savannah) Kennedy of Plattsburg MO, Wendy Johnson, Debbie (John) Hudson of Sioux City, IA,; best friends Ellie and Charlene, which she loved dearly, along with nieces and nephews, Jim Eaton, Lance Eaton, Austin Eaton, Joy Beers, Janesca Proctor and Heather Eaton.
Marjorie is now reunited in Heaven with her husband Thomas Moody; parents, Lamaster and Daisy Eaton; her brother, Eric Eaton; and her sister-in-law, Delores Eaton.
Memorials may be directed to the Special Olympics or the National Down Syndrome Society.
Services for Marjorie will be held at Chamberlain Funeral Home in Oregon, MO at 11:00 am on December 17th, 2022. Visitation for the family will begin at 10:00 am. Private family inurnment at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Maysville, Missouri.
