Gregory A. "Jake" Jackson 69 of St. Joseph, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at a local hospital.
He was born on October 18, 1953 in Buchanan Count to the late Francis and Violet Bowman.
He married Kari on January 15, 1999 in Savannah Mo. She survives him of the home.
He was a forklift operator at Johnson Controls and was with the company for 37 years until his retirement.
Jake loved his garage and that is where he left this world. During this life he was an accomplished martial arts tournement fighter. In addition, he was a hard worker, providor, and home builder. His life was in his shop where he loved a challenge. he was involved in a building a land cruisers and putting lifts on 4x4 trucks. He had a passion for Corvette's, motorcycles and trucks. He could find a diamond in the rough.
He was an animal lover, dogs in particular. Stray animals always found a friend in Jake.
He was a man of few words but you always knew when you were loved by him.
In addition to his wife of 24 years, Jake is survived by his son; Allen (Suze) Jackson, step-sons; Karl (Tina) Roller and Kert (Cathi) Roller.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 PM, on Wednesday evening Heaton-Bowman-Smith and Sidenfaden Chapel.
Mr. Jackson will be cremated following the visitation.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Friends of the St. Joseph Animal Shelter.
