Posted Dec 06, 2021 3:18 AM

Billie Dean Banks, 74, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.

He was born June 19,1947 in Stella, Nebraska to William and Louise (Hill) Banks.

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
Billie married Carla June Schweder on June 9, 2009. She survives of the home.

He was an over-the-road truck driver for many years, working for several companies and also owning his own rig for 10 years. After retiring, he delivered newspapers for the St. Joseph News-Press.
Sharp as a razor, Billie knew almost everything about cars and was always working on one. Family and his fur babies were Billie’s priorities. He always put everyone before himself and loved to talk – he never knew a stranger – and was also known for his colorful, ornery sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Kenny Banks, Teresa Banks, Larry Banks, and Shirley Cloves; granddaughter, Brooke Dube; and his beloved dog, Precious.

Survivors include his wife, Carla; children, Bill Owens (Marvina), Vanessa Mansfield (Rebecca Shutterly-Mansfield), Roland Banks ( Brandi Gann), Virginia Packham (Dorothy Dike); 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Leroy Banks (Sherri); sister, Janet Banks-Sullins; and beloved dog, Chipmunk.
