Missouri man killed after pickup, SUV crash

DAVIESS COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 6p.m. Wednesday in Daviess County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Chevy Equinox driven by a 26-year-old Lawson man was southbound on MO 6 at Route DD one mile west of Gallatin.

The driver failed to stop at the stop sign. A westbound 2007 Chevy Silverado driven by a 38-year-old Union Star man struck the SUV. After impact, both vehicles traveled off the south side of MO 6. The pickup overturned and struck a utility pole and a fence.

The 26-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Stith Funeral Home. Cameron EMS transported the 38-year-old driver to Mosaic Life Care. The 26-year-old was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
