2 hospitalized after 3-vehicle crash

BROWN COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just after 9:30a.m. Monday in Brown County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2020  Peterbilt semi driven by Carlo Rea, 49, Thermopolis, Wyoming, was westbound on U.S. 36 just west of the U.S. 75 off ramp.

An eastbound 2011 Ford F150 driven by Lyle Broxterman, 71, Fairview, Kansas, struck the oversized load that was in the eastbound lane. After impact the pickup struck a 2016 Kia Sorento driven by Jada Quarles, 28, Sauk Rapids, Minnesota.

EMS transported Quarles to Amberwell and Broxterman to Stormont Vail in Topeka. Rea was not injured. Rea was not injured. All three were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
