Cold cannot stop Cotillion for Achievement Ball

Bitter cold weather didn’t stop the Cotillion for Achievement Ball this past weekend.

Top female honors went to Alyssa Goolsby of Central High School with Ethan Brushwood of East Buchanan High School winning top male honors. Both Award of Distinction winners received an $1,800 scholarship.

The 14 finalists will receive $900 scholarships.

The Cotillion for Achievement Ball was held Saturday at the St. Joseph Country Club.

All of the finalists were seniors attending high school in Andrew or Buchanan County.

Female finalists: Lilyann Gardner, Bishop LeBlond; Ashyn Griffin, DeKalb; Emma Kapp, Savannah; Tenille Long, Central; Mary Monarch, Central; Brielle Smith, St. Joseph Christian, and Grace Tang, Central.

Male finalists: Roman Becerra, Central; Ethan Duncan, Benton; James Jura, Central; Dayne Koch, Lafayette; Zachary Langley, Lafayette; Isaac Rhode, East Buchanan; and Henry Scamurra, Central.
