A
70-year-old St. Joseph man died in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning at
the intersection of Missouri Highway 6 and 85th Road, near Bessie Ellison
Elementary School.

The Missouri
State Highway Patrol reports Ferol Engeman died at the scene.

The patrol
states Engeman was driving north on 85th as a car driven by
48-year-old Jessica Gummelt of Stewartsville was traveling west on Highway 6 about four miles
east of St. Joseph. Engeman failed to yield the right of way to Gummelt who ran
into his car. The impact of the crash threw both vehicles off the north side of
Highway 6. Gummelt suffered minor injuries in the crash, according to the patrol.

Initially,
the person killed in the wreck was reported to be from Atchison, Kansas.
