James H. Bird, 55, Atchison, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Wathena Healthcare and rehabilitation center. After a long battle with cancer.
He was born February 1, 1970 to Gaillard Bird and Nancy (Pearson) Bailey in Kansas City, Missouri.
James enjoyed spending his time weightlifting and watching the Kansas City Chiefs. He attended Apostolic Lighthouse Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gaillard and brother, Donnie Bird.
Survivors include his mother, Nancy (Vince) Bailey; Children, Colten Cornett; Siblings Gaillard, Tommy, and Paul (Jennifer) Bird, Angela (Lisa) Christofano, and Lisa(Jeremy Kempin) Bailey.
Memorial Service will be held 3:00 P.M., Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the Apostolic Lighthouse Church at 1434 Commercial St, Atchison, KS. Cremation under the direction of Simplify Cremations & Funerals.
