(UPDATE 7:56 p.m.) - According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the body found in the median of I-29 has been identified as Jeromy S. Loveday, 29, of Powell, Tennessee.
The investigation is ongoing.

It appears a body found in the median of Interstate 29 in St. Joseph could have been the victim of a hit and run.
The Missouri State Highway patrol reports an emergency call about a body in the median of the interstate between Frederick Avenue and the Highway 36 interchange came in shortly before two o’clock this afternoon.
Both the patrol and the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office responded. The investigation stalled traffic on I-29 for much of the afternoon. The sheriff’s office reports the person likely was a victim of a hit and run.
Both the highway patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control and the Buchanan County Sheriff's office are investigating.
