BUCHANAN COUNTY—Three people were injured in an accident just before 12:30p.m. Saturday in Buchanan County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 1994 GMC Sierra 1500 driven by Roy E. Allison, Jr., 47, Beatrice, Nebraska, was southbound on Interstate 29 at U.S. 36.
The driver failed to stop for traffic backed up in a work zone south of the location.
The GMC rear-ended a 2014 Ford Focus driven by Blake M. Ommen, 20, Parkville. The impact pushed the Ford into the rear of a 2006 Toyota Corolla driven by Neil E. Baker, 41, Omaha, Nebraska. The Toyota then rear-ended a 2018 Acura MDX driven by Debora J. Smith, 65, Country Club.
Buchanan County EMS transported Ommen, Allison and a passenger in the pickup Austin L. Beck, 22, Beatrice, Nebraska to Mosaic Life Care. Smith was not injured. Allison and Beck were not wearing a seat belts, according to the MSHP.
