St. Joseph woman injured in crash after avoiding a deer

BUCHANAN COUNTY —A St. Joseph woman was injured in an accident just before 5a.m. Saturday in Buchanan County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Honda Pilot driven by Amber M. Kneale, 22, was eastbound on MO 6 east of Route W two miles east of St. Joseph.

The car traveled off the south side of the road in an attempt to avoid a deer. The car returned to the road and the driver overcorrected. The car traveled off the south side of the road, struck two mail boxes and two utility poles.

A private vehicle tranported Kneale to Mosaic Life Care. She was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
