Mabel Marriott April 14, 1932-February 9, 2026

Mabel Jean Crabtree Marriott passed away to be with our Lord February 9, 2026, peacefully at The Willows in Wathena, KS. An assisted living facility that became her home 3 years back. She was surrounded by a very loving staff that loved her very much.

Mabel Jean was born to Stanton and Bernice Holcomb in Coffee, MO and had two brothers: Glen and Gerald both deceased. She attended school in Coffee and met J.W. Crabtree her senior year and was married for 40 years. They had 4 children: Karen Oliva (deceased), Linda (Alfred) Paden, Redgy Crabtree (deceased), and Marcia Crabtree. Jean & J.W. lived in Bethany, MO before moving to St. Joseph in 1963/64. Most of her life she was a true homemaker. But also worked for Quaker Oats and sold Electrolux Sweepers, in which she worked her way up to management. She always gave to the blood bank over a period of years, totaling about 6 gallons of her precious blood, always encouraging others to do the same. She was a big supporter of Disabled Veterans City Union Missions, Red Cross and St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. She was a Christian and attended Wesley United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Ladies Welcome Wagon in St.Joseph.

After J.W. passed in 1988 she met and married Jess Marriott and they were married 25 years before he passed. Dancing was always her past time and she was a member of Senior Citizens. She loved going on cruise ships in which she sailed with J.W. and Jess. "The Loves of her Life."

Mabel Jean had 8 grandchildren: Sonia (Nick) Swope, Sandra Oliva, Lakeya Paden, Angee (Kelly) Schmidt, T.J. Crabtree, Stacy (Jeff) Bird, Jim Dozier, and Cindy (Steve) Ritter, 12 greatgrandchildren: Summer (Kolten) Salonen, Alex (Steevie) Swope, Maddie Jasper, Lacy Stanford, Dakota Oliva, Shane Bonuchi, Brodie Groce, Regan Schmidt, Zack Schmidt, Jonathan Crabtree, Grace Crabtree, Katie Ritter, Caleb Ritter and 1 great-great grandchild Greyson Bonuchi.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Funeral services and public live stream; 2:00 pm, Monday, February 16, 2026 at the Rupp Funeral Home, The Interment will be at the  Memorial Park Cemetery.
