Barbara Elder, 87, of Saint Joseph, Mo., passed away Monday, November 17th, 2025.
Barbara is survived by her son, Douglas, his wife, Gracie, her grandchild, Andrew, and his wife, Darian; her grandchild, Lauren, her close friend, Kim Gilbert; her son, Brad; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She and her husband, Robert “Bob” Elder, were married for 68 years, building a home founded on hard work, generosity, and a care for others. She found profound joy in caring for others throughout her life. She cherished time with her family, especially watching her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews grow, and was always ready with a warm welcome, a kind smile, and a comforting presence.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Elder; her mother, Eden; her father, Bud Schultz; her brothers, Larry and Fred Schultz; and other dear family members who went before her.
A private burial took place in keeping with her wishes.
