Shane Michael Stone, 56, of Atchison, KS, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Amberwell Atchison, KS.
Shane was born on December 11, 1968, in Atchison, KS, the son of Larry and Janice (Reppert) Stone. He graduated from Atchison High School in 1987. Shane married Tracy Podany on August 8th, 1998. They divorced after 24 years of marriage but remained close friends. Together they had two sons, Nathan and Nicholas Stone. Shane was a Union Carpenter for DH Pace. He was member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Shane enjoyed baseball, fishing, boating, playing darts, pool, and bragging about his boys. He was an avid Royals, KSU Wildcats and Chiefs Fan.
Survivors include his parents, Larry and Janice Stone, Osage Beach, MO, two sons, Nathan and (Cecilia) Stone, Omaha, NE, Nicholas Stone, Atchison, KS, partner, Daniela Kirk, Atchison, KS, bonus sons, Ethan and Evan Piper, Atchison, KS, sisters, Angie (John) Gray, Atchison, KS, Debbie Alspaugh, St. Peters, MO, many nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Monday September 22, 2025, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, with Rev. Johnathan Schultz officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison, KS. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Atchison Humane Society or Salvation Army of Atchison and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
