Betty Jean Moles-Specker, 97, Kansas City, Missouri, formerly of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, October 28, 2024.
She was born July 11, 1927 to Thomas and Jennie (Bockiere) Musso in Kansas City, Missouri.
Betty married O.A. “Speck” Specker on June 9, 1984.
Educated at Cornell College, Betty's intellectual curiosity and drive for excellence set the framework for a remarkable career in agrimarketing. Her professional journey at Fletcher/Mayo/Associates showcased her talents, leading her to the position of Director of Agricom. Her entrepreneurial spirit later enabled her to become the owner of Agricom Inc., further solidifying her impact on the industry.
Betty was deeply involved in numerous social and community organizations, making a difference in every role she undertook. As an Emeritus Member of the Junior League and the President of the Missouri Methodist Hospital Women's Association, she demonstrated her leadership and compassion. Her dedication to service was evident through her time as a high volunteer with the United Fund, a Gray Lady with the Red Cross, a United Fund Colonel, the Second Vice President for Carder Hall Nurses, the Treasurer of the Saint Joseph Study Club, and the Director of Military Services. Betty's love for her community shone brightly in her position as President of the Mo/Kan Agri-Marketing Association and as a valued member of the Runcie Club.
Betty's unwavering faith was reflected in her longstanding membership with the First Presbyterian Church. Her affinity for animals further highlighted her gentle and loving spirit.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and wisdom with her children, Susan Lininger (Phil) and Bill Moles (Elizabeth); stepchildren, Steve Specker (Kim), Stan Specker (Julie), and Kim Feagins (Mike); grandchildren, Tyson Lininger, Megan Lininger, Brandon Moles (Erin), and Katherine Moles; step-grandchildren, Suzanne (Vince), Sarah (Cole), Lauren (Connor), Courtney (Nick), Kyle (Megan), Jason (Emily), and Samantha (Ethan); and several great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Speck, after 35 years of marriage, her parents, her cousin Sondra Stevens, step-granddaughter Bridget Blasi, and step-great-grandson Mason Adams.
Farewell Services 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Inurnment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service.
