Dawn Marie Halbirt Kretzer, 69, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, April 10, 2026 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
She was born March 18, 1957 in St. Joseph, daughter of Jerre (Thomson) and Donald Halbirt. She attended Benton High School. Dawn worked at Walmart, where she was a Department Manager. She enjoyed playing Bingo, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dawn was preceded in death by mother and step-father, Jerre and Tom Halbirt, her father, Donald Halbirt, and sister, Kimberley Watkins.
Survivors include: children, Brandi Gann (Roland Banks) of St. Joseph and Matt (Candy) Gann of St Joseph, brothers, Jeffrey (Sharon) Halbirt of Houston, TX, Mike Halbirt of Phoenix, AZ, Craig (Kathy) Halbirt of Scottsdale, AZ, and Christopher (Janice) Halbirt of St. Joseph, sister Deanie (Joe) Donovan of Pleasant Hills, IA, brother-in-law, Myrl Watkins, grandchildren, Linda, Ariel (Robert), Kayla, Dezirae and Brock, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Ms. Kretzer has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home. A Celebration of her Life will be at a later date.
