Gloria Isabelle Carter Jackson, 86, Atchison, passed away peacefully at the Lansing Care and Rehab Center, Lansing, KS, on Saturday, September 14, 2024.
Gloria was born December 4, 1937, to Audrey Raymond and Carolina Jean (Speroni) Carter. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1955 and began her career with Southwestern Bell telephone company, starting as switchboard operator and moving to the business office in 1967.
Gloria married Edward Corky Jackson on November 14, 1959. Their Love Story was sixty-four years long. Gloria loved to sew, play the piano, color and the beauty of flowers and birds. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents and her three brothers, Don, Paul and Mike Carter.
She is survived by her husband Corky of sixty-four years, her daughter, Michelle and Ron Urban, granddaughter Maria Urban and Matt Griffin, grand dogs, Sebastain and Hank and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. A private family memorial graveside service will be held at Mt. Calvary at a later date.
