2 adults, 10-year-old hospitalized after Daviess Co. head-on crash

DAVIESS COUNTY—Three people were injured in an accident just before 5p.m. Sunday in Daviess County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Ford 500 driven by Melissa A. Huffman, 53, Des Moines, was northbound on Interstate 35  four miles north of Altamont.

The driver lost control of the vehicle. It crossed the median, entered the southbound lanes and struck a 2017 Buick Enclave driven by Bobbi K. Byers, 63, Princeton, head-on.

Cameron EMS transported a 10-year-old girl from Des Moines in the Ford to Children's Mercy. They transported Huffman to Cameron Regional Medical Center. Daviess County EMS transported Byers to Cameron Regional Medical Center. All three were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP.
