Alice Rosalind Bushman, age 89, passed away on February 11, 2026 at home in Leavenworth. Alice was born July 10, 1936 in Winigan, Missouri to Wilbur and Bessie (Brink) Kimbley.

She moved with her family to Leavenworth in 1945 and graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1955. Graduating in 1959 with a degree in Business Education, she participated in Kappa Beta, a Christian Church sorority, as President; Associated Women Students; and was selected to Phi Beta Lambda, a college business fraternity. Alice met her husband of 64 years, J Sanford Bushman, at KU and they were married June 6, 1959 at the First Christian Church in Leavenworth. Sandy and Alice shared three children: Kim, Tanna and Jay. Their family increased by three, with the addition of their nieces, Cindy, Barbara and Nancy, the children of Alice’s sister Dorothy and her husband, Bernard Heim.

Alice was also a member of the Daughters of the American Colonists, Colonial Daughters of the XVII Century, Daughters of the War of 1812 and Daughters of Indian Wars. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Leavenworth, where she served as an Elder.

Alice loved to travel and visited many countries. She and Sandy had season tickets to KU football and basketball and she enjoyed watching the Royals and the Chiefs. She was avid birdwatcher and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles.
