Anyone 18 or older that lives or works in Doniphan County, Kansas is now eligible to receive the COVID vaccine.

Doniphan County Health Department has a clinic scheduled for April 8th at the Troy Community Building.

Doniphan County Health Department Administrator Sheryl Pierce says the county has now moved to phase five for COVID vaccinations.

"Everyone's eligible for the vaccine at this time," says Pierce to St. Joseph Post. "We hope we get a large majority of the people respond to that."

Pierce says the Johnson and Johnson vaccines are all booked for the clinic next week.

"But we do have 100 Modernas available for April 8th and they have to be able to return on May 6th for the second dose of the Moderna," says Pierce.

Pierce says to register for the vaccine sooner than later.

We're not able to just have walk-ins," says Pierce. "We have to schedule them so that we make sure we don't waste any doses, so anybody that wants the vaccine is to call our agency as soon as possible."
