St. Joseph woman injured after SUV strikes stop sign, utility pole

BUCHANAN COUNTY — A St. Joseph woman was injured in an accident just after 7p.m. Sunday in Buchanan County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2018 Toyota Rav4 driven by Lisa A. Ransom, 52, St. Joseph, was westbound on MO 6 at NE River Ridge Road. 

The SUV came over the crest of a hill and the driver swerved to avoid two vehicles in the middle of the road. The Toyota began to skid, traveled off the north side of the road, struck a stop sign, a utility pole and landed in the ditch.

Buchanan County EMS transported Ransom to Mosaic Life Care. She was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP.
