The St. Joseph Mustangs celebrated the Fourth of July in style with a 10-2 win against the Sedalia Bombers at Phil Welch Stadium Tuesday night. The Mustangs have won nine of their last 11 games and sit in first place in the MINK League North Division at 21-10 overall.
The Mustangs outhit Sedalia 12-4 and pulled away with three runs in the fifth inning and four more in the eighth.
Savannah native Noah Bodenhausen went 3-for-3 at the plate with three runs scored. Lafayette graduate Brayden Luikart went 3-for-5 with three runs scored.
Ben Click, Ryan Callahan and LeBlond alum Will Dryburgh each had two RBIs in the win. On the mound, former Savannah Savage Ty Hilsabeck got the win in six innings, allowing just two hits and two earned runs. He struck out four batters and walked five.
LeBlond alum Jaren Guck pitched two scoreless innings, striking out two. St. Joseph continues their homestand Wednesday night by hosting Clarinda. First pitch is at 7 p.m.
