The Back-to-School season is stressful for adults too. Dr. Ericka Rutledge is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist
“A lot of those responsibility loads start to build up in August and then they don't like let go anytime soon," Rutledge told KMOX
Rutledge says you can't pour from an empty cup, so good sleep and healthy eating are one of the best things you can do for yourself as an adult as the school year starts.
"Just as important as sleep is to our kids. Sleep is also very important for us to be able to sustain these routines, these structures, just our own moods," Rutledge explains.
Rutledge says parents should remember that everything doesn’t have to be figured out that first week back at school.
