Mark Diggs August 3, 1962-May 22, 2025

Mark Alan Diggs, 62, Helena, Missouri; passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at his home.

Mark was born on August 3, 1962 in Fairfax, Missouri to Jerry and Beverly (McWillims) Diggs.  He graduated from Nodaway Holt RVII in 1980 and received his Master’s Degree in Engineering Management from Missouri Western State University.

Mr. Diggs proudly served his country for ten years in the Missouri National Guard, during which he was on the Missouri National Guard Shooting Team

Mark farmed on his grandfather, Tom Diggs', farm until 2001.  He then became a plumber, electrician and all around handyman.

He was a member of Grace Calvary Church.  He enjoyed cooking, boating, cycling, Bible Studies, missionary work including Samaritan’s Purse and fixing things.  In recent years, Mark spent lots of time with dear friend, Jeremy Burleson, cycling and boating.

Mark will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all that loved him.

Mark is survived by his mother, Beverly G. Diggs; father, Jerry Diggs (Nancy); son, Matthew Brown (Elizabeth); grandchildren, Harper, Clara, Oliver and Cole Brown; sister, Julie Nielson (Steven) and their children, Shawna Sielert, Daniel Nielson (Jessica), Silas Nielson (Alisha) and great-nephew, Steven Nielson; brother, David Diggs (Jill) and their children, Sara (David) Schulter, Jessica (Cassie) Johnson and Molly (Brian) Roberts; great-nieces, Summer, Gracie and  Natalie Roberts; great-nephew, Riley Johnson; great-nieces, Olivia and Ani Schluter.

Mr. Diggs was preceded in death by his brother-in-law,  Steven Nielson, paternal grandparents, Tom and Joyce Diggs and maternal grandparents, Willard and Blanche McWilliams.

Funeral Service 2:00 PM Thursday, May 29 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.  Interment with Full Military Honors at Helena Cemetery.

The family would like to invite all attendees to dress in casual attire. 

In lieu of flowers, due to Mark’s unexpected passing the family has requested memorial donations in care of Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel to assist with funeral expenses. Donations may be sent to 307 S. 6th Street, Savannah, MO 64485.
