Interstate 29 has reopened in St. Joseph.
I-29 through St. Joseph reopened shortly before eight o’clock Thursday night after Clarkson Construction completed the latest portion of the Cook Road Bridge replacement project. Clarkson removed the deck of the bridge and set new girders.
Reconstruction of the bridge has not been completed. The Missouri Department of Transportation estimates the project will be completed by October. Overnight lane closures of I-29 are anticipated throughout the project. MoDOT says lane closures might occur between 7pm and 7am at various dates throughout the project. There will be a 12-foot width restriction in place during those closures.
