St. Joseph man avoids injury after rear-end crash

PLATTE COUNTY—Two drivers avoided serious injury in a crash just after 8a.m. Thursday in Platte County. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2013 Ford Taurus driven by Jason D. Kalamon, 26, St. Joseph, was southbound on Interstate 29 just north of Interstate 435 East.

The driver lost control of the Ford. It rear-ended a 2017 Hyundai Elantra driven by Danielle P. Grey, 27, Kansas City, Missouri. After impact, the Hyundai overturned.

Grey said she was seek her own treatment for a minor injury. Kalamon was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP.
