A St. Joseph man in his 40s died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound after firing into a crowd at America’s Best Value Inn at the corner of I-29 and Frederick, then crashing his vehicle into a Speedy’s Convenient Store on Frederick.

St. Joseph police report officers responded to a disturbance at the motel shortly before 6:30 last night.
