Suspect in NE Kansas jail faces charges in 3 new cases

ATCHISON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect currently in custody  at the Atchison County Jail in three additional cases, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.

Raymond Fink, 20, is charged with computer crime and theft in connection with the theft of cash from McDonald’s Restaurant at 118 South 8th on May 27.

He is also charged with theft in connection with the theft of a money box and cash from the Lions Pool at 1201 Commercial on June 1. 

He is also charged with attempted aggravated burglary and criminal threat that occurred around 10:00PM on May 29, when he attempted to make entry by kicking in a door at a residence in the 1300 block Hickory that was occupied by a known person to him and subsequently making a criminal threat to the victim by phone.

Just before 6p.m. on Saturday officers were sent to the area of 9th and Unity in Atchison after receiving reports that 20-year-old Raymond Fink was in the area and he was known to have active warrants for his arrest, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.

An officer located Fink walking in the area of the 800 block of Mound. Fink ran from officer and a foot pursuit ensued. He was apprehended and taken into custody in the 1000 block North 8th Street.

He remains jailed on requested charges of Criminal damage to property that occurred on April 26th at Walmart in Atchison, a theft that occurred on May 3rd at Walmart, an attempted burglary that occurred on April 26th at a parking lot in the 800 block of Raven, Criminal Damage to Property Hill Road where he allegedly did damage to a vehicle while trying to enter it, District Court warrants for failure to appear in court and a Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear in court.

In October, he was jailed on requested charges of battery and failure to appear, according to online jail records.
