On Thursday, St. Joseph will celebrate the National Day of Prayer with events around the city.

In the morning, people will gather for the National Day of Prayer Breakfast, and in the evening another event will be held for people to gather at St. Joseph Christian in the new gym.

Event coordinator for the National Day of Prayer Nancy Gregory says the event will spend the evening praying for the seven mountains of culture.

"Business, government, military and law enforcement, churches, the family, education, and also the arts and media and entertainment," Gregory says on the KFEQmunnity show. "So, hopefully we'll have a great turnout, I feel like this is a very significant time in our nation and it's really a point where we need to be asking the Lord for his help."

The event will run from 6:30 to 8pm and is free to attend. Gregory says the event is important because of how tough times may feel in the world currently.

"And when times get tough, people, historically even in our own nation have turned to the Lord for prayer, and right now it's as though we're at this opportune time to turn back to him," Gregory explains. "It's the 75th anniversary of the National Day of Prayer, and it's also the 250th birth of our nation celebration, and so it seems as though that's this convergence in providing an opportune time for us as the people of God to say Lord we need you again in our nation."

The gathering will provide an evening of prayer for attendees. People will also have the chance to hear from George Dennehy, who is also the speaker during the morning National Day of Prayer Breakfast
