Election results: John Josendale elected St. Joseph mayor, Garcia and Miller win school board race

Former Wire Rope and WireCo executive John Josendale has been elected as the new St. Joseph mayor, defeating Gary Wilkinson 53.75% (4,688) to 45.98% (4,010). He takes over for mayor Bill McMurray, who elected to not run for reelection.

Marty Novak (4,869), Jeff Schomburg (4,790) and Kenton Randolph (4,637) won the St. Joseph city council at-large seats.

Randy Schultz won an at-large council seat outright in the February 8th primary.

Madison Davis has been re-elected to the St. Joseph city council's first district, defeating Patricia Jones 57.32% (936) to 42.25% (690).

Taylor Crouse won the second district city council seat in the February primary. 

Andrew Trout ran unopposed for the third district city council seat.

Michael Grimm has defeated incumbent Russell Moore in St. Joseph's fourth city council district 56.76% (962) to 42.83% (726).

Theodore "Ted" Elo has been elected as St. Joseph Municipal Judge, beating Terri Lowdon 52.76% (4,475) to 47.06% (3,992). Elo takes over for John Boeh, who's retiring after 21 years on the bench.

Elsewhere, the Mid-Buchanan special school bond to borrow $8 million for classroom and building construction/furnishing PASSED 76.82% (474) to 23.18% (143).  The adjusted debt service levy of the School District is estimated to remain unchanged at $0.90 per $100.

Isaura Garcia (4,594) and Kim Miller (4,156) have been elected to the St. Joseph School District board.

Voter turnout county-wide was 19.6% with 9,940 ballots cast.
