DULUTH – Larry Dean Fischer, 80, of Duluth, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at the Community Hospital in Onaga.
He was born March 9, 1944, at Snokomo, KS, the son of William and Elsie Viola (McClellan) Fischer. He entered the U.S. Army in 1962 and served as a demolition specialist
Larry was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Duluth.
He had worked as a machinist for Seymour Foods in Topeka and for Abbott Aluminum in Manhattan.
Larry married Faye E. (Valburg) Rodenbaugh on July 5, 1980 at Onaga. She survives, of the home.
He was preceded in death by his parents a grandson, Ryan Wentworth, a brother, William Fischer, and a sister, Elsie Hatfield.
Other survivors include two sons, Larry D. Fischer, Jr., Centralia and Kevin D. Fischer, Topeka, two daughters, Deborah I. Martin (Robert), Tuscon, AZ and Kimberly Dee Fischer, Topeka, two step-sons, James Rodenbaugh (Sue), Smithfield, NC and Andrew Rodenbaugh, Paxico, two step-daughters, Marjorie Haynie, Duluth and Deanna Warren, Overbrook, four grandchildren, Jason DeRego (Elsa), Jessica Greenwood, Alex Fischer and Harold Fischer, seven step-grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren..
Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 14th at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Onaga. Burial with flag presentation will follow in the Home Cemetery at Onaga.
