Jeanne Elfrard, 86, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 23, 2024.
She was born January 16, 1938 to Philogene Elfrard and Elmina Odelus in La Tortue, Port-de-Paix, Haiti.
Having moved from the warm embrace of Haiti to the United States of America, Jeanne held dear the memories of her birthplace while embracing her new community with open arms. This journey brought new opportunities and challenges alike, but Jeanne's tenacious spirit never wavered.
Her son Marc Pierre and his wife, Marie Ervilus, her daughter Lavita Pierre, and a vibrant troupe of grandchildren — Merlande, Erick, Marc Elie, Marvin, Kervin, Irvin, Jimmy and Maika Pierre, Jean Seffort, Kenyerry, Widelande, and Wilda JeanDonfred, James Rodney, and John St. Firmin — survive her. They, along with her sisters Janne Joseph and Avalina Elfrard, her brother Odilon Elfrard, and a host of extended family and friends, hold the memory of Jeanne in a cherished place in their hearts. Her parents, her son Makenzy Pierre, and her daughter Juliana Pierre preceded her in death.
Throughout her life, Jeanne’s skills in retail sales not only demonstrated her work ethic but also her ability to touch lives through daily interactions. Her love for travel, family gatherings, and her incredible cooking brought joy to many.
