St. Joseph Post

Area residents again are waking up to sub-zero weather.

But a warming trend begins this weekend.

The bitter cold was enough for the St. Joseph School District to cancel classes Friday. The closing includes all schools, elementary, middle, and high schools along with Hillyard Technical Center, Webster, Keatley’s Adult Education classes, and the Early Learning Centers.

This is an Alternative Methods of Instruction – AMI – day, virtual learning for students.

Some after-school activities might occur as planned. Contact the person in charge.

St. Joseph District employees should refer to Scenario A of the district inclement weather policy.

The Savannah R3 School District is in session. Buses are running on alternative routes today.

The National Weather Service expects a high of 20 today with wind chills between -5 to 5 above. It will be clear overnight with a low of 9.

The bitter cold is expected to end Saturday. The National Weather Service forecasts a high Saturday of 35. Sunday, the high is expected to reach 47.

On Monday, we should see mostly sunny skies with a high of 57.
