A senior USDA official says federal investigations into possible anti-competitive practices in the agricultural input industry could soon result in formal action. Deputy Agriculture Secretary Stephen Vaden says USDA is working with the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission on ongoing investigations involving fertilizer, seed, chemical and farm equipment companies.
