ATCHISON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect for an alleged altercation in Atchison.
Shortly after 1:30p.m. Sunday, officers responded to the 900 block North 7th in Atchison where a 20-year-old man reported he had been confronted by another man known to him, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson
During the confrontation the suspect allegedly struck the victim several times in the face with his fist. EMS transported the victim to Amberwell Hospital for treatment of injuries. The suspect, identified as 20-year-old George Phillips had left the area but was located by officers at his residence and taken into custody.
He is being held on requested charges of aggravated battery.
