Nichlas Glen Ballard, 47, of Smithville, Missouri, passed away on March 23, 2026, at North Kansas City Hospital as a result of injuries suffered in a tragic accident. He was surrounded by loving friends and family.
Born on February 19, 1979, Nichlas was a graduate of Smithville High School Class of 1997.
He is survived by his children, Nicholas, Madilynn, Ryan, and Jackson; his parents Richard and Jo Ballard; his sister Niquelle McKenney (Kristian); his brother Zachary Ballard; nephew Kaiden McKenney and niece Gabriella McKenney; fiancée Maura Eddinger who he was looking forward to spending the rest of his life with, and her children Mia, Hunter, Fisher, and Piper; and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Matthew Ballard, his grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.
Prayer service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 25th at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Smithville, MO. Graveside service will follow at Paradise Cemetery, Smithville, MO.
