Venice R. Hones, 97, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, March 23, 2026.
She was born April 5, 1928 Fayetteville, Tennessee, to Thomas and Myrtice (Evans) Oldfield.
Her passion was preaching the Lord’s message as a Pentecostal preacher.
She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Dora (Graham) Oldfield; her husband of 47 years, E. Luther Hones; a son, Thomas E. Hones; one granddaughter, Melody R. Hones; and two sisters, Josephine McCormick and Ilene Bliss.
Survivors include two sons, Billy E. Hones and Michael L. Hones; five grandsons, Jason, Michael II, Brian, Christohper and Austin; one granddaughter, Charity; 13 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Celebration of Life to be held at a later date in Tennessee. Cremation under the direction of Simplify Cremations & Funerals.
