The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory that will be in effect throughout this evening, and health officials are urging residents to take precautions.&nbsp;

The Heat Advisory in effect from noon to 10 pm.&nbsp; Area health officials are&nbsp; advising residents to take precautions to protect themselves from heat-related illnesses.&nbsp; Extreme heat could cause heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

United Way of Greater St. Joseph also posted a list of cooling centers and emergency shelters available for the public.
