Alice Faye (McKinney) Bruntmyer, age 86, passed away peacefully on the morning of March 30, 2025 in Mound City, Missouri surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on September 16, 1938 in Saint Joseph, Missouri to her parents Della Arletta and Floyd Richard McKinney of Saint Joseph, MO. She was one of seven children.
Alice is survived by her husband of 38 years, Howard Ray Bruntmyer Jr. (Junior) of Mound City; her three daughters, Debra McDainels (Bill/Hopper) of Saint Joseph, MO, Linda Brayman of Mound City, MO, and Jennifer Bernard (Brian) of Saint Joseph, MO. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Michelle McDainels of Saint Joseph, MO, Kevin McDainels (Lisa) of Saint Joseph, MO, Kristi Rhodd (James) of Mound City, MO, Taylor Reynolds (Kody Wall) of Savannah, MO, Tyler Collins of Saint Joseph, MO, Kylie Bernard (Shon’drel Kirby) of Saint Joseph, MO, and Jaden Bernard of Saint Joseph, MO. Alice also had thirteen surviving great-grandchildren, Chandler Mattson, Rylea Felumb, Kasey Felumb, Brooklynn McDainels, Addisen McDainels, James ‘Logan’ Rhodd, Kayden McDainels, Karter Collins, Aiyah Wall, Kanan Collins, Athyna Wall, Kaia Collins, and Ky’Anna Kirby. Alice was also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her brothers Gerald McKinney of Las Vegas, NV, Johnny McKinney of Saint Joseph, MO, Donald McKinney of Saint Joseph, MO, and Floyd Richard McKinney Jr. of Saint Joseph, MO. Alice was also preceded by her sisters Nancy Bromley of Saint Joseph, MO and Patty Cannon of Saint Joseph, MO, and her great-granddaughter Amanda Mattson.
Alice enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved living and working in Mound City, drinking coffee on her porch watching the hummingbirds, playing pool, watching football and UFC, playing bingo, and spending time with her husband, Junior. Her memory will live on in all of our hearts. Alice was a breast cancer survivor. If you would like to donate, please donate to the Holt County Cancer Fund.
