ATCHISON COUNTY, Mo. —A Nebraska woman died in an accident just after 7:30p.m. Wednesday in Atchison County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2018 Hyundai Sonata driven Jovannah D. Ross, 38, Omaha, was northbound on Interstate 29 three miles south of Rock Port.
The Hyundai began to slide, crossed the center median and entered the southbound lanes. The passenger side of the Hyundai struck the front of a southbound 2018 Toyota Sienna driven by Emily A. Ptacnik, 34, Omaha.
Ross was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Minter Funeral Chapel in Rock Port.
A private vehicle transported Ptacnik and three children ages, 6, 4 and 2 to Mosaic Life in Care in St. Joseph for treatment of minor injuries. Ross was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
