COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Buchanan County

A troubling trend continues in Buchanan County with the report of 25 new cases of COVID-19 driving the county total since counting began to 1,334.

The St. Joseph health officials report of 25 new cases on Thursday comes on the heels of 20 new cases reported Wednesday, 24 on Tuesday, and 19 on Monday.

One thousand, 123 of the total cases counted since the coronavirus pandemic began have been confirmed through testing, 211 are considered probable cases.

Mosaic Life Care reports a slight uptick in hospitalizations this week. Nineteen COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalized in St. Joseph.

Mosaic has now tested 23,695 area residents with 1,318 testing positive. Mosaic is awaiting the results from 210 tests.

Andrew County health officials report 144 total cases; 120 confirmed and 24 probable.

Doniphan County, Kansas reports a total of 59 cases.

In Missouri, the total cases have now reached 79,574, resulting in 1,450 deaths.

Kansas reports a total of 39,937 cases with 437 deaths.
