Federal prosecutors recommend a St. Joseph couple who participated in the January 6th, 2021 riots at the U.S. Capitol should spend time behind bars.

Both Kim Dragoo and her husband, Steven Dragoo, pleaded guilty August 11th of last year to charges of picketing, parading, and demonstrating in the U.S. Capitol.

Prosecutors has asked the judge presiding over their case to sentence Kim Dragoo to three weeks in jail, to be served intermittently, and to sentence Steven Dragoo to two weeks in jail. Prosecutors recommended a longer jail sentence for Kim, claiming she has failed to express remorse.

The two also must pay $500 in restitution to the Architect of the U.S. Capitol.

Sentencing is scheduled for later this month.

Kim Dragoo unsuccessfully ran for a seat on the St. Joseph School Board.
