Danny Earl Bauerle, 62, of Fairview, passed away in Yuma County Colorado as a result of a motor vehicle accident on November 30, 2025.
Danny was born September 13, 1963, in Hiawatha, Kansas to Marvin and Helen (Craig) Bauerle. His siblings David, Debbie, and Daron grew up with him on the family farm, where Danny had a favorite horse, Ginger. He attended Hiawatha High School and graduated in 1981. During his high school years, he was active in football, where he was part of the state championship team of 1980. He also participated in basketball, band, the FFA, and 4H, where he showed Hampton sheep and dairy cows at levels of county and state fairs, and even at the American Royal. After graduation, Danny was offered a chance to play with the Omaha Legion baseball team, but he knew his path was going to be another way. Danny worked for various dairy farmers before joining the Marine Corps in 1984.
Danny entered the United States Marine Corps at the age of 21, and served proudly for 20 years. He would not speak of all the missions he had participated in but he was a Truck Master, Aircraft Firefighting and Rescue Specialist. He served in at least 9 countries and received the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal (6), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, National Defense Medal (2), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (2), Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Commendations (5) Navy Unit Commendation (2) Certificate of Commendation (individual award), Letter of appreciation (8), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Rifle Sharpshooter Badge, Pistol Marksman Badge. He participated in SNCO Career, SNCO Advanced Course, Warfighting Skills PGM, SNCO Adv NonRes, SNCO Career NonRes, SGT NonRes PGM, NCO Leadership School, Aircraft Firefighting and Rescue Trainings, before retiring.
Danny married Christie (Walder) on September 19, 1992, later divorced in July 2008. Danny is father to two children Craig and Brandan. The family lived in Yuma, Arizona for 13 years before Danny retired from the Marine Corps on November 30, 2004, and moved home to Kansas in 2005. Danny’s hobbies included maintain his aquarium, working in his yard, and going fishing. One of his greatest passions was preparing ornate displays of Christmas decorations for the yard.
He is preceded in death by his father Marvin, sister Debbie Redmond, and his favorite dog, Duke.
Survivors include his children Craig and Brandan Bauerle from Auburn Kansas, his mother Helen of Fairview, and his brothers David of Fairview and Daron of Hiawatha.
Funeral services will be held on Dec 13th 11 a.m., at the St Paul Lutheran Church in Fairview Kansas. Visitation with the family will be at 10:00am and the services following, then interment at Mt Hope Cemetery in Hiawatha with military honors a courtesy of the United States Marie Corps. A meal will follow at the Fairview Community Building.

He was a member of the St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fairview and has served as an usher. He had a deep faith which can give us comfort that he is no longer in pain or dealing with injuries and illness. We are sure he is rejoicing in heaven with all his family members with Jesus. Memorials can be made to the Fairview American Legion in honor of Danny, where he was an active member.
