Dorothy Carol Brox, 85, of Kansas City, MO., formally of Atchison, Kansas passed away on January 9, 2026.
Services will be 10:30AM, Thursday, January 15, 2026, at St. Louis Church (Good Intent), Atchison, KS, with burial to follow at Good Intent Cemetery. A rosary will be held at 6:00PM, January 14, 2026, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with a visitation following from 6:30 till 8:00PM. Carol was born on March 31, 1940, in Atchison, Kansas, the daughter of Noland and Dorothy (Bridwell) Hundley. She married Jerry Brox on Aug. 12, 1961, and celebrated sixty-four years of marriage. She worked initially as a phone operator with AT&T. Next, she poured herself into raising three children while also keeping the books on a computer for the family farm. She was her husband's capable partner on the farm, an accomplished tractor driver in her own right. She could drive anything with four or six wheels. Later, she enjoyed working as a podiatrist assistant. She was blessed with a lifelong circle of friends. She delighted in gardening, canning, cooking large meals, and square dancing. She found joy in studying scripture and praying to her beloved Lord. As a devoted prayer warrior, she was an active member of the Charismatic Renewal, rosary and prayer circles.
She is survived by her husband; Jerry Brox, son; Kevin (Kathy) Brox, daughters; Lisa (Patrick) Hirsch, Julie Brox (Mike Weege) and her grandchildren; Krayton & Michelle Brox.
She is preceded by her parents, sister and brother-in-law, Vilma (Roy) Demel.
