Sharon Moutray 1943 - 2024

Sharon Moutray, 81, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. She was born on June 20, 1943 to John B. and Roberta M. (Lynch) Warden in Grant City, Missouri.

Her marriage to Ronald Lee Moutray on August 24, 1962, was the start of an enduring partnership that would last 62 years. Together, they created a legacy of love and family that includes their children, Ronald Moutray, Jr. (Beth), and Tiffany Garrett (Paul); grandchildren, Austin Moutray (Tiffani), Sarah Morrison (Jordan), Josiah Moutray (Katelyn); and great-grandchildren, Ava Moutray, Hudson Moutray, Jacquelyn Morrison, and Shepherd Morrison. She is also survived by her siblings, John Warden (Joyce), Shirley Herner (Larry), and Wanda Weston (Larry), along with sisters-in-law, Judy and Betty Moutray.

Sharon was a woman of education and purpose, graduating from Lafayette High School and Plat-Gard Business School. Her career began as a dedicated secretary at Brown, Douglas, and Brown, before she embraced the role of a homemaker, supporting and nourishing her growing family with her loving hands and kind heart.

Sharon's life was a reflection of her unwavering faith and commitment to her church. As a member of Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Society, her spiritual devotion was evident. She taught Sunday School and lived out her faith through selfless service and kindness.

Sharon’s love for cooking created countless cherished memories with family and friends. Her kitchen was often filled with laughter and the aroma of delicious meals that brought comfort and joy to many. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Farewell Services and Public Livestream 10:00 A.M. Monday, Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
