Debra Kaye Penick, 62, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
She was born August 11, 1961 in Paola, Kansas to Arthur and Ruth (Maynard) Austin. She grew up in Paola, then attended college in Kirksville, Missouri, where she met Randy Lee Penick. They married on July 16, 1982.
Debra lived and raised her children in Hawaii and California while Randy was stationed there in the Navy. They later moved to St. Joseph to be near family.
She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter. She leaves behind a lasting legacy of love for her family.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Maynard.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Randy; children, Ryan, Amanda and Cassandra Penick; granddaughter, Maddie Penick; father and stepmother, Arthur and Betty Austin; siblings, Ken Austin (Barbara), Diane DeGrado (John), and Denise French (John); other extended family and friends; and her beloved dog, Princess.
The family will gather with friends 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, August 2, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
