ATCHISON COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a disturbance at a motel in Atchison and have made two arrests.

At 7p.m. on Sunday police responded to a disturbance at a motel in the 400 block South 10th Street, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson. It was determined that a disturbance had occurred between two men who were known to each other and during the argument the 35-year-old suspect later identified as Ignacio Gonzalez, Jr. of Laredo, Texas, threatened the 24-year-old victim with a knife. 

Gonzalez was taken into custody at the scene. He was taken to the County Jail on a requested charge of aggravated assault. A third person at the scene, Daniel Shaw, 36, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was taken into custody for interference with law enforcement. He was taken to the County Jail.
