Wanda B. Scholz October 23, 1928 - April 15, 2025

Wanda B. Scholz, 96, Doniphan, Kansas, died Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at her residence. 

Funeral Service will be Friday, April 18th, at 10:30 A.M. at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Doniphan Cemetery. A visitation will begin at 9:30 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Doniphan Cemetery, Amberwell Hospice or St. Jude Children’s Hospital and may be left in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. 

Wanda was born October 23, 1928, in Cummings, Kansas, the daughter of Allen and Belle (Hartman) Guinn. She attended Cummings Elementary School and later Potter High School in Potter, Kansas. 

On November 18, 1945, she married Leonard H. Scholz, at St. John’s Church in Doniphan, Kansas. Mr. Scholz preceded her in death on April 16, 2003.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing, being outside and working in her yard. Wanda was a very strong and independent woman. She was no stranger to hard times and heartache throughout her life, yet she persevered and found joy in life’s little things, including family and friends. Her hard work ethic kept her young and she remained independent until recent months. She loved driving to town, socializing, shopping and getting her hair done. 

Survivors include, a son, Terry (Denene) Scholz, Atchison, KS, a daughter, Donna (Ron) Erpelding, Atchison, KS; a daughter-in-law, Connie Scholz, Atchison, KS; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Jimmy Scholz, Jerry Scholz, a brother, Stanley Guinn, two sisters, Marian Scott and Beulah Milton.
